Project Brief
Our client, a leading medical device company, focuses on advancing electrosurgery technologies to improve surgical outcomes. Conventional electrosurgery blades are commonly used in surgical procedures for incision and hemostasis. It helps to reduce blood loss during surgery. Some challenges of electrosurgery are due to damage to surrounding tissue by high temperatures, risk of poor healing as well as significant surgical smoke generation. Newer methods like plasma blades have been used to reduce the temperature damage but have significant investment needed as well as sometimes cause challenges with hemostasis. Our client has come up with a unique solution of a safe, effective and cost effective next generation energy solution for better surgeries and faster recovery.
The solution Duoblade reduces the thermal injury and amount of smoke created. Additionally, it does not have a requirement for initial investment in the device since it works with conventional electrosurgical devices.
VentureBlick is involved in a preliminary study to help the company ascertain its potential in some markets. This study will involve demand verification based on input from VB advisors in these markets, via an in-depth questionnaire that selected advisors will answer. The results will be compiled into a report for the client.
Selected advisors will not be identified individually – only their country and specialty will be made known. In addition, the report will be proprietary, and exclusively available only to the client.
